ACBOGCC FUNDRAISERS

The American Council of the Blind of Ohio Greater Cincinnati Chapter (ACBOGCC) has several fund raisers each year to support its programs of grants and projects for blind and visually impaired people in the greater Cincinnati area. The 2 major fundraisers are:
1. Santa's Christmas Show held in conjunction with our telemarketer, A J Cappel Enterprises, and held during the Christmas season.
2. The Flying Pig Marathon in early Spring in which ACBO shares in some of the proceeds as a nonprofit organization..
All proceeds from the ACBOGCC fund raisers are used for ACBOGCC programs, projects, and advocacy for blind and visually impaired persons in the greater Cincinnati area.

PLEASE NOTE: The American Council of the Blind of Ohio Greater Cincinnati Chapter (ACBOGCC) is too often confused with the Cincinnati Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired (CABVI). The only similarity in the two organizations is that both have the word "blind" in their corporate names. Too often, In the minds of less discriminating people, the American Council of the Blind of Ohio Greater Cincinnati Chapter incorrectly becomes the "blind association". So also, in the minds of those same people, CABVI becomes "the blind association", too.
ACBOGCC and CABVI, each in its own way, strives to better conditions of living for blind and visually impaired people in the greater Cincinnati area.
CABVI, with its sizeable paid professional staff, is an agency serving blind and visually impaired people with training programs as well as a production facility which employs blind and visually impaired people.
ACBOGCC, having no paid staff, is a membership organization of and for blind and visually impaired people with its members, all unpaid volunteers, engaged in advocacy for blind and visually impaired people for equality and equal accessibility to all facets of this society of ours. It uses proceeds from its modest, but very important fund-raisers to support its advocacy.

Our great organizations do have the highest respect for each other but, again, it must be remembered we are not connected in any way.
